The Edu-Connect Scholarship Program is an outcome of “Edu-Connect 2022”, a state-wide education conclave held by Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) in partnership with North East Educational Council (NEEC) to boost investment in the State’s education sector. The event was also held to create awareness and to give the students insights into various educational institutions in the country.

On the topic of education and financial aid, there are numerous grants, schemes and scholarships available for students of various types – whether they are need-based or merit-based. Before you apply, it is crucial to know what they are about and their offerings so you can make an informed decision.
A scholarship is basically a financial aid given to students to facilitate their education, whereas a stipend is money paid to apprentices and interns as monetary assistance. While a scholarship can be a grant, a monthly, bi-monthly or annual allowance, a stipend is a monthly based allowance. Even though both a scholarship and a stipend are financial grants, the main difference between the two is that a scholarship is monetary assistance given to students for further education, whereas a stipend is financial aid given to interns.
The Edu-Connect Scholarship Program is a scholarship program specifically made for Scheduled Tribes (ST) students planning to go for further studies and is looking to explore more options. Below, we’ve listed down the top 5 reasons why you should consider applying for the Edu-Connect scholarship.

Did we mention that there is NO FEE to apply for the scholarship? You don’t need to pay a dime to access the application or to submit one.You simply have to click the ‘Apply now’ button on the Edu-Connect scholarship page, fill out the form, and wait for the institution to get back to you. Once students submit their form, the university will go through it, start shortlisting candidates based on eligibility criteria and entry requirements, and get in touch with selected candidates.
Note:
With most scholarships, you get to apply only once. The choices can be limiting, there may not be enough options to try, or due to hundreds of students applying for the same scholarship, you may face a tough competition. In some cases, students may also face rejection due to unclear instructions.
But under the Edu-Connect scholarship, students get three chances to apply for one of the 350 seats available in the program. This will help increase your chances at scoring a seat in one of the prestigious institutions. While you’re filling up the form, it also comes with clear information so you don’t have to worry about missing out on important details.
Pro-tip:
The Edu-Connect scholarship covers full and partial tuition fees only. But it does not cover costs such as food, travel, accommodation and miscellaneous fees. If students want to avail student loans for their studies, IDAN provides ever ready assistance to students to secure bank loans.
Students from Nagaland face a number of challenges in the education sector. The challenges can be due to the lack of better educational prospects or the financial constraints to pursue further studies. There are schemes available to help students but in some cases, students may not be able to avail them.
The scholarship is a great opportunity for ST students as it was created to spread awareness, give exposure, and provide opportunities to students of Nagaland, who have a Scheduled Tribe Status. Through the Edu-Connect scholarship, Naga students can explore their options in several reputed institutions in the country to start off their new journey.
Students and parents alike usually tend to opt for institutions that the Government endorses since there is a sense of trust and security. They may feel more hesitant to go for private colleges either due to the difference in fee structures or because of lack of information or knowledge about them.
With the Edu-Connect Scholarship Program, the Government of Nagaland fully supports the educational institutions listed under the program. So, students and parents can rest easy as you explore these options with a safety net on.
