Kohima, Nagaland – February 20, 2025 – The Government of Nagaland, through the Department of School Education (DoSE) and the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), in collaboration with NagaEd, has successfully implemented Phase 1 of the Nagaland Disaster Management School Safety Policy (NDMSSP) Compliance Course, demonstrating the power of public-private partnership (PPP) in education.
With 7,435 educators and school administrators enrolling in just six months, this initiative has become a model for leveraging technology to scale teacher training efficiently. The overwhelmingly positive response from teachers has reinforced the effectiveness of digital learning, proving that online training can be engaging, accessible, and impactful.
The School Safety Policy Compliance Course is an example of how government agencies and private partners can work together to deliver large-scale training programs. By combining the expertise of NSDMA and DoSE in policy and disaster preparedness with NagaEd’s strength in digital learning, the initiative has successfully trained thousands of teachers without the logistical constraints of traditional in-person training.
“Ensuring school safety is a shared responsibility, and this initiative has shown how collaboration between government and private partners can create scalable and sustainable solutions,” said NSDMA
The digital-first approach has eliminated geographical barriers, allowing teachers across urban and rural areas to access self-paced, high-quality training at their convenience. With course content available online, educators have been able to complete their training without disrupting their regular teaching responsibilities.
“The success of this program is proof that technology can break down barriers to critical training. By digitizing school safety education, we are ensuring that every teacher, regardless of location, has access to life-saving knowledge,” said Kevisato Sanyü, Co-Founder of NagaEd, the technical partner supporting the digital implementation of the course.
Educators have welcomed the flexibility and accessibility of the digital format, with strong feedback supporting the continuation and expansion of online training.
The course’s interactive components, including videos, quizzes, and flashcards, have kept participants engaged, while the self-paced format has allowed teachers to balance training with their daily responsibilities.
Following the success of Phase 1, the Government of Nagaland has launched Phase 2 to ensure full participation and compliance. As outlined in the official notification issued by DoSE. To access the course, teachers can visit https://education.nagaland.gov.in
“School safety is an issue of equity—every child deserves to learn in a secure environment, and every teacher deserves the training to provide that. This program is a step in the right direction,” said PD, DoSE, emphasizing the need for inclusive disaster preparedness.
The School Safety Policy Compliance Course serves as a model for scalable, technology-driven teacher training, proving that effective public-private collaboration can lead to meaningful change in education.
