Born and raised in the beautiful town of Mokokchung, Aonok has spent most of his professional life in the edtech sector where he has contributed majorly in the development of educational content for the K-12 segment and the test prep industry.
Aier started out briefly as an ESL tutor teaching English as a second language to indigenous audiences. Then, he joined BYJU’s, one of the leading edtech companies in the world, where the majority of his professional experience lies, spanning over 4.5 years in the company. Aier’s experience at BYJU’s comprised of test prep development for the SATs, scripting for video and audio productions in collaboration with Disney and the Oxford University Press, online interactive content development through educational frameworks, gamification, and assessment creations, content creation for digital marketing, along with managerial responsibilities. Next on the horizon for Aier was Openhouse, another edtech startup that focused on afterschool assisted learning where he worked briefly as a Category Manager, managing curriculum, teacher management, and classroom delivery.
Having worked in some of the major edtech startups, Aier felt it was time to explore avenues in his home state. That is when he found an opportunity with NagaEd and saw the impact that the organisation was creating in the fields of digital education and instructional design. With the realisation that it was time to give back to the community and the state with the experiences he has garnered over the years, Aier joined NagaEd as a Projects Lead in the Learning and Teaching department.
Aonok leads and manages the projects at NagaEd including the implementation of digital tools and digitisation of courseware. He is responsible for defining project scopes, objectives, deliverables, planning, and success criteria of projects in collaboration with stakeholders and project teams.
